Wait ’til your dad gets home
A story in haikus

Apple of his eye?
Me, middle child, first born son
We can’t disappoint
Wait! Me, the dark cloud?
Sons warned “thunder and lightning”
A pending storm looms
Time passing too quickly
Waiting for Dad, and waiting
Time passing too slowly
He’s home. He’s coming.
We brace. He says “We good then?”

Inspired by Susan Christiana’s prompt, “Wait”, which Susan says was inspired by me, which is a lot of inspiration!
