Taking a risk to be serious in the House of Satire. But your “100 days” post took me to a better place and human than Trump. Sharon Jones died on November 18, 10 days after Trump was elected — otherwise the 2 are unrelated. Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings were an American funk and soul band signed to Daptone Records. Here are a couple verses of one of her most famous songs; so you’ll know why your post prompted me to connect to the title, the words, and of course, to Sharon.

100 Days, 100 Nights by Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings

100 days, 100 nights

To know a man’s heart

100 days, 100 nights

To know a man’s heart

And a little more

Before he knows his own

You know a man

Can play the part

Of a saint

Just so long

For a day comes

When his true, his true self unfolds

Sharon and her ‘100 days’ are worth celebrating. Trump and his are not!

If you’ll allow me one more indulgence, Allan, here’s Sharon doing this number on YouTube: http://youtu.be/8ouI5KcyHfE
