Sapere Aude, turns out bankrupt can also mean “completely lacking in a particular quality or value”, i.e. morality — at least as we would define it. This is different than insolvency, where money or good credit may have existed, and so … Trump has qualified for accolades in both areas of bankruptcy!
Amazingly — and most sad in my mind, there’s a huge crowd of supposedly moral, God-fearing Evangelicals who have convinced themselves Trump doesn’t have to measure-up as a moral leader of our country. And with no evidence of appreciation for Christian values, let alone using these guiding principles in his life, … sorry, something got stuck in my throat.
I do enjoy these conversations, Sapere Aude. Thanks for engaging with me and my writing!
