He told his supporters it'd be Mexico’s wall
They thought that meant pay for time and supplies
But now we know taxpayers will be taking the fall
Failed negotiation or one of his lies?
Now, he’s got money via Treasury access
Brand-building funded by our bank account
Trump golf and hotels, Mar-a-Lago promotions
The taxpayer’s bills are starting to mount.
Don’t get me wrong, he trades off expenses
To cover security in Melania’s New York hood
Cut the National Endowment, Arts not a favorite of Pence's.
And don’t forget defunding Planned Parenthood.
Add millions for missiles, reversed mid-East plans
Was he moved by low ratings or the children affected?
Weren’t these the same humans blocked by immigration bans?
Got his first ratings bump since getting elected.
Benefit of doubt? Let’s assume he’s big hearted
And “other people’s money” lowers risk, strengthens bids
But his history is worrisome and his governing uncharted
A war choice shouldn’t be easy ’cause you’re using “other people’s kids”.
