Kellyanne and George:

Trump used Kellyanne to his advantage to get elected. Since getting elected, he’s come to realize every time Kellyanne speaks for him, the public has a visceral, vomit-inducing reaction, but she’s also one of his most effective liars (especially as compared to Sean Spicer). Trump’s quandary is they both attract coverage (ratings) because their performances are so abominable, we can’t look away … then we purge!

On the other hand George has never been helpful, doesn’t draw an audience, and is immediately “guilty” by association with his wife. George may be a good guy, but Trump doesn’t need more good guys whose advice he will ignore anyway.

Finally, as the headline of this article suggests, George (by accepting a role in the Trump administration) gets 2 things: (1) forever being referred to as “Kellyanne Conway’s husband”, and (2) a reputation-killing entry on his resume. So if it was George’s decision to withdraw his name from consideration, this may be a sign there’s one adult in the Conway household with good judgment — but only one!
