I hear you, Michael. In these times, it’s very hard not to be disheartened. In part, that’s why my political writing tends towards humor and satire — as in, laugh or cry. But you may be seeing some more serious pieces from me this year, and I will work very hard to present a reasonable perspective to counter the hysteria I see too often.

In order to maintain my sanity, I’m doing 2 things — actually not doing one and doing the another: (1) What I’m not doing is losing my sense of humor, and (2) What I am doing is actively representing the causes important to me. The latter makes me feel a little bit more in control than I would otherwise feel.
